Green EnergyAlways keeping in step with the times, KARAGIORGOS BROS. ABEE has entered the RES-based electrovity generation. Specifically, it has 3 photovoltaic parks with a capacity of 1.7 MW. The Karagiorgos-Siarkou group founded Bioenergy Imathia S.A., which has been operating since October 2015. This is an installation that generates electricity from biomass, with a capacity of 1 MW, which it channels to the distribution network of DEDDIE (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator). The unit’s installed capacity coupled with the fact that it is going to operate around the clock all year round leads to a total electricity generation of about 8000 MWh. This quantity is estimated to cover about 70% of the energy needs of all the ginning units of the group, which are at full workload during the two months of October - November, when the cotton is harvested.
